Dog Training in Brighton, CO

Dog training in Brighton is an important part of helping dogs build confidence, control, and reliable manners in a community known for its mix of open spaces, suburban neighborhoods, and family-friendly parks.

With regular exposure to wildlife, farm environments, neighborhood activity, and other dogs, many pets benefit from structured training to help them stay focused and calm.

Owners often seek professional training when their dogs begin pulling on leash, barking at distractions, jumping on guests, or struggling to settle in busy or unfamiliar environments.

With consistent practice and the right guidance, dogs learn how to handle real-world challenges more predictably, making daily walks, home life, and outdoor activities much smoother.

I had all but given up hope that my 4 month lab puppy would be able to be trained. The situation had become wildly out of control, barking incessantly, chewing everything he could those little shark teeth on, including me, not minding at all and never letting me sleep. I was at the end of my rope when I brought him to Sit Means Sit. By the end of his first day training, I could see that I actually had the dog I had hoped for. The transformation was remarkable!! Jon, Blaine and Judson and the real deal and are committed to you and your dog on EVERY level. The customer care is beyond every expectation I could have asked for. Satisfied customer?? ABSOLUTELY!! I would give 10 stars if I could! If you’re on the fence, hop off and get over to see them asap. You will be forever grateful. Hands down the best decision I have made for my pup!! He is worth it and they treat him like he one of the family! SMS is quality training through and through!

A great experience. Having just adopted another greyhound (RooRoo), I wanted to brush up on my skills since it's easy to develop bad habits over time. Logan was our trainer and I couldn't be happier with what I learned and how well RooRoo responded. RooRoo did so well, that he's now enshrined on Mt. Roomore.

This training program was perfect for our goals!! I adopted a rescue that was scared of his own shadow. There was no putting a collar on or taking a walk, he barely came out to eat. Sit happens quickly drew him out of his shell and he was wearing a collar and taking walks in no time. Now he can walk with confidence and has learned to be non reactive. I used to have to physically put him in the car and now he loads up at command! This training program was great for Peanut and myself and thanks to all their hard work we have the foundation for a long, well behaved life together!!! The tools and information they provide are awesome and the in home training was perfect for this terrified dog. Thank you for everything!!!!

Logan was phenomenal to work with! When our dog was attacked/bit by 2 dogs on a walk he became traumatized and so reactive we were scared to walk him. After 7 sessions with Logan and Ashley we feel we have our sweet boy back and he’s ready to explore the world! They gave us step by step instructions, homework, and visited our “trouble spots” on a walks with us to help our boy be successful. We are so grateful for what we learned. We would highly recommend to anyone!

We thought we were getting a silver lab puppy. Turns out we adopted a furry, athletic hostage negotiator with unlimited energy and selective hearing. Enter our dog trainer — Logan and Ashley- part magicians, part therapists, part dog whisperers.
Before training, walks felt less like “quality time” and more like being dragged through the neighborhood by a caffeinated submarine. Now? Our one-year-old lab Oso actually walks with us instead of auditioning for the Iditarod.
More importantly, he trained us too — which, honestly, was probably the harder job.
Our dog is happier, calmer, more confident, and somehow still goofy in all the best ways. We now have a dog we can actually take places without apologizing every 14 seconds.
If you’re on the fence about training, do it. If you’re considering this trainer, run — don’t walk (your dog finally can) — and book them immediately. 💯

My kids hired Logan and Ashley to help them train their new lab puppy. They were amazing! They gave very clear instructions to the kids and the puppy and gave them homework and really spent a lot of time teaching them how to work with Bella. After just a few weeks she was already doing so good with commands and their advice and training was invaluable. I work at a vet hospital and see a lot of animals that are not trained and I'm was so impressed with the things they taught her and know she will be such a well behaved dog!

Amazing! Our dog had reactivity issues with people running, people on bikes, delivery tucks and motorcycles. Logan and Ashley helped us learn the body cues of our pup to get ahead of any issues and now she can sit and watch the world in peace. Highly recommend!!

Logan and Ashley are exceptional trainers. I have a very stubborn Chow Chow who tends to do things on his own terms, and I was struggling significantly before reaching out to them. After a few consultations and training sessions, I saw noticeable improvements—not only in my dog’s behavior, but also in my own handling and understanding as an owner.

Frequently asked questions

Do you help puppies and dogs of all ages and breeds?

You bet! Sit Happens is the most established dog training provider in the Denver area with over 14 years in business and 10,000+ dogs trained. We’re experienced in working with puppies and dogs of all life stages and have catered to more than 250 breeds.

What makes Sit Happens different from other dog training services?

Sit Happens is the leading dog training provider in the Denver area, and we also proudly serve Tampa and St. Augustine. But we’re more than just another dog trainer— we’ve earned our reputation for a reason. While typical training might focus on getting your dog to follow commands, we go beyond the basics. Our approach is all about your dog’s overall wellbeing, helping them feel comfortable in their environment and strengthening their bond with you.

We make sure you and your family are part of the process, giving you hands-on lessons and exercises to practice with your dog between sessions. This way, you’re not just teaching your dog commands— you’re building an unbreakable bond with your furry friend.

Are your trainers certified?

Yes. Each of our trainers goes through a rigorous 90-day certification course. We only hire trainers with extensive prior experience who pass our thorough vetting process. Each of our trainers also carries their own professional accreditations and affiliations. They are required to undergo 100+ hours of continued education each year to stay up-to-date on the latest science-backed methods.

Can you make sessions fit my schedule?

Of course. One major advantage of private training is that it fits into your lifestyle. Other training services make you drive to a facility on a strict schedule and charge extra for the flexibility of in-home lessons. At Sit Happens, all of our training plans are designed to work within your schedule.

Can you work with multiple dogs?

Yes, we can either train each of your dogs individually or hold private group sessions with all of your dogs together. Each of our trainers can work with up to five dogs at a time.

Does my dog need to be up-to-date on their shots?

Yes. In order to keep you, your dog, and your trainer safe, we kindly ask that you ensure that your dog has received all their vaccinations.

Is private dog training affordable?

Yes, the cost of private dog training is comparable to group dog training, yet it’s twice as effective. In a group training setting, your dog has to overcome the distraction of other dogs they don’t know while still trying to learn the basics. Private training offers an array of additional benefits, including flexible scheduling, personalized lessons, and one-on-one attention from the trainer.
